BLOG 7: GOOD FRIDAY…

Not THE Good Friday, but today, October 16, 2026, was a pretty good day. Got a lot done around the apartment. The hound went and got a bath and a nail grind, so he’s looking very handsome. I didn’t apply to a job today, but I did apply to two yesterday, one of which was arguably my best fit yet, but we shall see what they say. After six weeks of catching a beat down, it would be nice to at least get an interview out of this one. Trying to temper my expectations, but a part of me is excited.

The problem with sitting around is that your mind starts to think of new and completely irresponsible things to do. Before I got laid off, I had a trip to Vegas already planned for the end of September. Not really knowing where my next dollar was coming from and realizing there was adulting to do, I cancelled the trip and threw what I was in the process of saving back into our checking account to…you know…eat and stuff. But, now that things have settled out…I DO have a flight credit on American…my room in Vegas would be comped (but I’d have to pay the dreaded Resort Fees and taxes). So, other than gambling, it wouldn’t be all that expensive to go. It is something to think about.
